Enter our Christmas Shop Window Competition...

Watch out for this year's Annual Christmas Shop Window Competition, organised jointly with Shropshire Newspapers, which is free for all shops in the town to enter.

Entries are sought for all four categories: Class 1Smaller Shops (up to 18’ total frontage); Class 2Larger Shops (over 18’ total frontage); Class 3Florists & Hairdressers; and Class 4 Charity Shops. Entry forms may be downloaded here; the final deadline for entries is Monday, 5th December 2016, with judging due to take place on Friday, 9th December and presentation of trophies at Hatchers Solicitors on Friday, 16th December.

Networking events

For November's networking eve and AGM, which once again returns to our favourite Origins Restaurant, many tickets have already been snapped up via Eventbrite. This networking event, which features a presentation from Shropshire Council's Chief Executive Clive Wright and Leader Cllr Malcolm Pate, is free for all members; non-members are also welcome for a small charge of £5, to cover administration and catering - come and find out more about us! Our monthly networking events have been held at a number of venues including Origins Restaurant, Shrewsbury Town FC, Shrewsbury Flower Show, Salop Design, Sabrina Boat, Shrewsbury Museum, Shrewsbury Prison and Salop Leisure's Love Plants facility near Emstrey Island, all very well attended. Executive committee meeting October 2016

The last meeting of the Executive Committee was held at the Shrewsbury Town Football Club on Wednesday, 19th October 2016. Among the items on the agenda discussed, as well as the usual subsidiary committee meetings & reports, were updates on the LEP, Shrewsbury Bid and the Shropshire Business Board; the continuing progress of University Centre Shrewsbury; the Shrewsbury Integrated Transport Package; the expansion of the Chamber Magazine with further advertisers coming forward; and upcoming Chamber networking meetings for the upcoming year. Local business trends and current issues were also discussed.
